هنا عاش وعمل الفنانون والحرفيون الذين بنوا وزخروفوا ونحتوا معابد ومقابر ملوك مصر القديمة، والتي تعتبر من أروع الآثار في العالم. لقد كانوا ماهرين ومبدعين لدرجة أنهم استطاعوا تحويل الصخور إلى تحف فنية رائعة، وشيدوا مقابرهم بجانب منازلهم بشكل أهرامات صغيرة، تعبر عن احترامهم وإعجابهم بملوكهم.
